Master’s Class w/ Sue Carpenter: (Intermediate to Advanced)
Master Fingerpicking
Class: If you already fingerpick, you’ve discovered the beauty,
grace, and diversity of this technique. Here’s an opportunity for you to learn from a master fingerpicker how to elevate
your skill and add artistry to your style. Using melodic exercises and slow airs, Sue will focus on picking patterns,
dynamics, and harp-style playing. You’ll learn how to make melody notes stand out, vary the tonality of your dulcimer,
and add expression and passion to your playing. Set your fingers free and joy will follow.
Master’s Class w/ Curt Osgood: (Intermediate to Advanced) Explore
ways of expanding and embellishing the melody. Working with melodic chord insertions, bass and chord walks, alternative rhythms,
harmonies, and other aspects including rolls, flams, suspended endings, expansive phrasing and other techniques you’ll
learn to create challenging and enchanting renditions tunes. “Board Orchestration”
issues (where we go when and how) will also be closely examined.
